About Robbi
Hello! My name is Robbi, and I am a CELTA certified English teacher with a degree in Media, Culture & Communications. I am from New York, and Manila, and I take pride in finding home through diversity and cultural curiosity. After having lived in New York, Paris, London, and Manila, I have gained a unique perspective on language learning and community through language. I am incredibly passionate about language acquisition, as well as finding the most effective ways of teaching & language immersion.
Besides teaching, I am a singer-songwriter, and artist. I also enjoy going to the gym, and cooking different recipes for the week. On my days off, I enjoy my time out in the ocean and tropics, and I read essays and books on a variety of subjects and themes.
Teaching style
I am CELTA certified, with over 120 hours of teaching English both online and in-class with Pre-intermediate & Upper-intermediate students. I specialize in conversational english skills and systems, and tailor my lessons according to the needs of each individual student and their goals. I enjoy teaching students from many different cultures, integrating conversations about their home experiences, and fostering learning through our similarities and differences.
While I focus on conversational english, my degree in Media, Culture & Communications also allows me to teach english for professional marketing, social media and advertising settings.
My top priority is to create a friendly and warm learning environment that is most conducive to your growth as an English learner! It will be supportive, encouraging, and stress free :)Learning English should not feel like a chore, but an opening to greater connection and possibility :)
