About Michael
Hi, my name is Michael. I am from Canada and my native language is English. I have been an English teacher for over 23 years, in 5 different countries. I have mountains of experience teaching students of all ages and levels, from phonics classes, to deep philosophical conversation classes, and everything in between. I have been working on improving my teaching by using different styles from differing countries and schools as the need arises. I really enjoy conversation classes, but feel equally comfortable giving grammar, writing, speaking, listening, and reading lessons. Teaching style
Although it is very common for teachers to give their specific approach to education, I feel this is a bit backwards. Different students require different approaches and methods in order to meet their goals efficiently. I am an outgoing and fun teacher for students who are looking for that, but I also enjoy deep philosophical conversations, and even more traditional lesson based classes for students who are looking or something different. A teacher's job is to meet the student where they are and improve their knowledge in a way that mirrors their style, age, and goals. That is what I try my best to do every day.
