About Kristin
I'm a life-long reader and English teacher who loves to focus on helping adult students feel comfortable learning English. My career of working in a financial setting, as well as customer service, travel, and insurance, helps me have a wide range of experiences to share with students. My love for travel and teaching pushed me to teach English to Chinese learners in Guangzhou for a year's contract. And I loved every minute of it. Currently home in Rhode Island in the northeast part of the United States, I am planning for another trip soon. I've been told my superpower is making students feel comfortable with me, and therefore comfortable to practice speaking English. It is not easy to learn a language as an adult and I am here to support and guide my students each step of the way.
Teaching style
My teaching style is relaxed, conversational, and centered around each student's goals. People learn a language best by using it, so my lessons combine natural conversation with grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary practice in a way that feels practical rather than overwhelming. Whether you're preparing for work, travel, interviews, or simply becoming more confident in everyday conversations, I tailor each lesson to your needs and interests. My goal is for every student to leave class feeling more confident than when they arrived, knowing they have learned something they can use in real life.
I especially enjoy working with intermediate and advanced adult learners ready to move beyond memorizing vocabulary and grammar.
