About Derek
I've taught English across Asia (Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam) and in America. I mainly teach teenagers and adults for all kinds of English (casual, business, test-taking, writing). I enjoy playing piano and singing, art, music, videography, and acting. I also teach how to have the best learning experience and mindset when learning a new language.
Teaching style
I am like a doctor for your English. I see what you need help with (vocabulary, pronunciation, fluency, listening, etc) and I focus on that skill. I utilize TEFL methods, which are highly interactive, giving students 75% talking time in the class, correcting mistakes and teaching students the weaknesses they should focus on improving. My class is very relaxed but I take my lessons seriously.
