About Alev
Hello! I’m Alev. I’m from London, England. I’m British and I also have a Turkish Cypriot background, so my native languages are English and Turkish.
I’m a CELTA-certified online English teacher and I also hold a BA degree in French. I’ve been teaching English online for about seven years and have taught students from many different countries, especially Turkey.
I specialize in teaching English to beginners, helping them build a strong foundation and gain confidence in speaking. I also support intermediate students who want to improve their fluency and communicate more naturally in English.
In my free time, I enjoy practising French, doing yoga, drawing and painting.
I've learned French as a second language myself, so I understand the challenges of learning another language and how important it is to feel comfortable and confident when speaking.

Teaching style
In my lessons, we focus on practical communication and structured practice. I correct students gently during conversations and make a note of their mistakes so that we can review them in the following lesson.
I focus on developing your conversation skills while helping you improve your grammar, vocabulary, word choice and pronunciation. We can discuss a variety of topics, read and discuss articles, or have more structured conversation-based lessons.
I also create my own PowerPoint materials, which include vocabulary, grammar exercises, speaking activities and role-plays. My lessons are supportive and adapted to your level, needs and learning goals.
